I stayed in bed all weekend. Literally. I started to think I was getting sick but I really think I am just tired and run down. Tons and tons of sleep is the perfect remedy. Except now, my house is in shambles. So the lists for the week have started again. To keep my listing current, I have just added a new list to my fridge. Yorkie sticky notes seriously make daunting to do lists so much better! Although my lists are chalk full of things that need to be done around the house and for work, I have just added a new one for my summer bucket list. Yes, I know I am a little late as summer is nearly half way done, but since I am now a working woman, my summer doesn’t have to end at the beginning of August anymore!
Summer Bucket List for 2016
Find a farmer’s market in my area and frequent often
One of the best things about the University of Arkansas was their weekly farmers markets. There were beautiful flowers, fruits and vegetables locally grown, and the perfect place for brunch Saturday mornings. I miss that so much! And Grapevine is so quaint. They are bound to have some type of farmer’s markets or something of that type.
Go on a spontaneous getaway trip or staycation
I have had a hankering lately to tour Dallas! It blows my mind these days that I have never seen the Dallas staples and I have lived here almost all my life. Of course a weekend trip would be my first choice, but if it doesn’t happen I would be satisfied with a weekend staycation! Now, just to make it happen.
Organize a garage sale
This is going to happen! I’ve planned this since March when we started opening our wedding gifts. It has been put off for months and there is a certain season for garage sales (my garage sale queen aunt taught me this) so I have to get it done. Plus I have given our friends my word that we would organize a combined sale so it has to happen. Guilting myself into doing it!
Host a party
We moved into this beautiful house with the expectation that we would host parties for our friends and family. Well since I’ve been dragging my feet trying to get everything unpacked, we have not had many people over. According to my to do list, I will have the house completely unpacked, decorated, and up to entertaining standards by mid July which would give me plenty of time to throw together a end of summer party!
Go on a nice date
I know this sounds so easy, but B and I are not known for 1. being romantic or 2. spoiling ourselves on dates. We never really “dated” when we first got together- as in he never formally asked me to dinner, wined and dined me, and then drove me home. It just wasn’t our style. I have a hard time justifying spending so much money on food and we don’t get dressed up very often. BUT that is why it is the perfect bucket list item for summer. I ask all the time now if we can treat ourselves to a nice romantic dinner as it will be our first one ever! Yes, this one is going to happen.
Okay, I’ve made my list, now I have to make them happen. I have three months, seriously how hard can it be?
