I know I am late to the party on this one, but I would love to make it a tradition to do a roundup for each holiday. I know those are the days/weeks that I am the most productive and I love to decorate my house depending on the time of the season. Because I am cheap, I like to find frugal, thrifty ideas. So, without further ado:
First, I want to give credit to Leah of The Calico Cat Blog for posting the best round-up for the Independence Day holiday here! She links such great to fashion, recipes, and party tips!
These porch decorations are the cutest from My Talking Walls! She put them together so nicely that I would consider putting these in my house instead of on the porch. She put stars and stripes on hers, but there are so many choices for what to put. Lettering, patterns, stars and stripes… the possibilities are endless! I can’t wait to make these and see how they turn out.
New England Wreaths on Etsy have beautiful wreaths I would one day love to afford! They are so patriotic and can be used for Labor Day, 4th of July, and Memorial Day! However, I have used these wreaths as inspiration in the past and taken my shot at trying my own from supplies at Hobby Lobby. Of course, mine don’t turn out nearly as well as hers, but it is a start!
Landeelu makes the most perfect tissue paper garland for any party decoration. I made some of these for my bachelorette party and they are seriously so cute. They are not hard to make and Landee makes the best step by step that anyone can follow. I can imagine this being so cute behind a buffet table at a party or across the back door to the pool. So many choices!
Michelle at Michelle’s Party Plan It is a party stylist (how cool is that title??) and can put together a dream party. She has her latest July 4th party on her blog and if I had my act together enough to plan an actual party, I would use everything she links. Maybe Labor Day? Her party is just beautiful.
Who can resist popcorn on a hot summer day while in the pool?? Lindsay of Life, Love, and Sugar steps through how to make this patriotic and delicious popcorn. It doesn’t sound hard at all and I am definitely going to be making this to eat and watch the fireworks. It’s practically like a movie, right? Which means popcorn is essential.
I am not a huge fan of peplum tops typically but Laura from Reese and Rowe might have transformed me. No joke, I have already ordered this top and I am hoping it comes in within the next few days so regardless of what we end up doing for the 4th I can wear it! Plus, holy smokes if I look like Laura after I have two kids, I am going to be taking a huge step up… talk about pretty mama! I was a bit hesitant about ordering from a China clothing company, but after talking to Laura she reassured me that it was good quality and the fit was accurate. I’ll let you know when it comes in! I can’t wait to wear this after the holiday, too. I’m already thinking of all the great outfits I can make, even a few for work!
break the bank
Charline Liu of Eat Love Wear has the best sales for the holiday and I am so glad she pointed out this is a good time to shop. I would have never thought to go look at new clothes during the holidays but as Charline points out this is the perfect time between summer and fall that new lines are being launched and old lines are going on mega sales. You can find me at my computer online shopping all next week!
I know I am so late to the game on this one, but I am feeling a party coming on for Monday to just use all these things. And of course a shopping spree (thanks Charline)! Everyone have fun and stay safe.
